It’s hard to believe it’s been almost 5 years since I visited Zion National Park. In 2019 I spent a full day surrounded by nature and completed the hike to Angel’s Landing. Along the way I hiked the Grotto Trail and part of the West Rim Trail to Scout’s Lookout, right before Angel’s Landing begins.

The views were some of the best I’ve ever seen to this day. I fell in love with the park and the landscape. The weather was bright, sunny, and warm enough but not hot so it was perfect. As I hiked higher and higher, I felt proud for pushing myself. The switchbacks were definitely hard but worth it because even if you end at Scout’s Landing it’s absolutely breathtaking. I parted ways with my friend, as she was too nervous to do Angel’s Landing. The narrow path and sections with chain railings was intimidating, but I was young and felt fearless.

I stopped as much as I needed and took photos, but made sure to be aware of my surroundings and the people. I almost didn’t finish too. I was exhausted and had already been trekking for hours. I took extra time on a smaller landing to drink water, have a snack and rest. Knowing how close I was to the end, I was incredibly relieved I didn’t turn back. I would have been so disappointed to know the end was in sight. I feel like this hike was a major milestone in my life and I will never forget it.

My goal is to come back to this magical place and experience more of its trails, if not every single one. To really feel like I’ve seen it all because I feel deeply connected to it. It may sound silly but I really do love Zion National Park. I hope you can visit it and have your own fun and exciting adventures there too. Thanks for coming along and see on the next adventure!
