Today I listened to a live seminar at work on trying new things, the obstacles we place to avoid them, and how to overcome being in a rut. I’ve never known myself to limit what I can do and experience in this life, but sometimes it is so much easier to sit on the couch, comfortable, and inert.

Is there something you’ve always wanted to try, but just can’t seem to actually do it? Do you fear failure or embarrassment? Maybe the depression or anxiety is telling you to stay where you are in the safe zone. Whatever the reason is, it doesn’t have you in a choke hold.
You can push the boundaries! And when you do, you’ll be more confident, resilient, and versatile in your life. There is exponential value is trying new things and it starts with you.
While I was listening and absorbing the information laid out in front of me I began to wonder about all the things I’ve done in my life. I started a list and the length of what I’ve experienced was shocking. The list doesn’t even begin to showcase everything I’ve done, experienced, eaten, visited, etc. So, I challenge you to make a list too. Really think about what you’ve done and then come up with what else you want to do. What is novel that would make you happy, uncomfortable, pensieve, exhillerated? I want to to find more joy and meaning in life and sometimes that means trying something new.
Thank you for reading to the end and I’m rooting for you!
