It’s a New Year

Hello! It has been a long while since I’ve checked in. And life has certainly been a roller coaster. We also celebrated a new year. Welcome 2022!

On January 1st I crossed off an item on my bucket list: orange picking!! The Showcase of Citrus is a beautiful estate full of rows and rows of various citurs fruits. I happily picked yellow naval oranges as well as a smaller citurs called Honey bells. The weather was perfect and bees were hard at work pollinating the thousands of blossoms. I can’t wait to go and pick more citrus, like kumquats!!

I’ve also had the pleasure of promoting authors and their work on my book focused Instagram: @booksinparadise. This monht I read an advanced reader copy of Second Star to the Left by Megan Van Dyke. This fantasy romance was a great read! It reshaped the story of Tinker Bell and Captain Hook, which drew me in as a reader.
I received an other advanced reader copy of Shadow Kissed by Rebecca L. Garcia and can’t wait to dive into her world.

My aesthetic on @booksinparadise follows my brand of including nature. The majority of my photos are taken outside and I utilize the dozens of small succulents and plants as staging for the photos. In addition to these natural elements, I love bringing in candles, gems, and other trinkets that fit the vibe of the book. My favorite decoration is a dagger I got for Christmas from my best friend.

February book club read

I also started a book club with some friends! Each month we have a book pick based on everyone’s recommendations and then at the end of the month we will hop on Discord for a video chat to discuss. So far we read A Court of Thorns and Roses in January and this month we will discuss Dark Shores by Danielle L. Jensen. I can’t wait to read more books with them this year!

Finally, I got a new rob at work! I joined the scheduling team for Entertainment operations. It was a much needed change and I couldn’t be happier I accepted the position. I am working with an incredily hard working, and supportive team. I am grateful for all the opportunities I’ve had and can’t wait to show my skills and leadership with the team.

As always, thanks so much for the love and support here and across my platforms. I am still working through a lot of mental health things but continue to work on being kind to myself, as well as indulging in what makes me happy. Friends, nature, books.
