Day 13: Living in the Moment

“What day is it?” asked Pooh.

“It’s today,” squeaked Piglet.

“My favorite day,” said Pooh.”

― A.A. Milne

Winnie the Pooh is my favorite Disney character. I grew up listening to his stories on tapes and love watching the movie. I actually saw The Tigger Movie in theaters with my vovó and sat through the whole thing! She was very impressed. I enjoyed every moment seeing the movie and spending time with my grandmother.

Over the last two days, I truly lived in the moment. I took a fun trip to some nature parks with my good friend Tom. He knows tons of places to photograph, so I always have a good time seeing new places he brings me. This time around we went to P.E.A.R Park, also known as Palatlakaha Environmental & Agricultural Reserve. As we walked around the park, I stopped twice to sit on a bench and take in the moment. The sights. The sounds. The ocassional cool breeze. It is a truly beautiful place and I plan to go back when it isn’t so hot. (Summer’s in Florida are rough). I even dipped my feet into the river! I felt calm and at peace, which honestly doesn’t accurately describe how I was feeling because it is so unexplainable. Then we drove to the Scrub-Jay Trail which is a privately operated park focused on providing direct and immediate benefits to scrub-jays and their habitats. The area was beautiful and housed several gopher tortoiuses as well as some donkeys. We sadly didn’t see any scrub-jays but still had a wonderful time exploring and taking photos.
Thank you for showing me natural beauty and inner peace.
